The masculine side of healing is often overlooked and/or misunderstood. This workshop will offer women a glimpse into their own usage of the masculine side of healing, as well as bring an understanding about the men and boys in their lives, how they grieve, and how best to get close to them when they do. The men will learn about the path toward healing they likely already use regularly but have never named.

Thurs., Sept.30th, 8:30-11:30am PROFESSIONALS and Others who Companion the Bereaved
We all have markedly different ways to heal from grief and trauma. Much of our clinical knowledge and what we see in the media tends to focus on the feminine side of healing which traditionally centers on openly emoting and talking which literally tells the story of loss. This is a potent way to heal but is this the only way to heal? Our workshop will take a look at a mode of healing that is often overlooked or misunderstood: The Masculine Side of Healing. When we look into the masculine side we find a different way to "tell the story." This workshop will look at how the masculine side is used, along with giving you tools to spot it in yourself and others. We will focus on the three basic ways of telling one's story. Our discussion will also include the many factors that play into gender differences including: socialization, hormones, brain differences, and the latest ideas from evolutionary psychology regarding how these things have evolved in order to aid our survival.
Cost: $25.00…Registration is required and must be received by Tues. Sept. 28th
